Methods Used
Face the fear to no longer fear
Exposure Therapy
When we fear we naturally avoid. Exposure therapy involves gradually facing the scary thing until your brain sees that it has experienced it enough to not fear it anymore. This may involve a combination of visualization exercises in session and taking small steps on your own.
Find the root cause
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
Learn the specific thoughts, perceptions, and beliefs that fuel your fear. Once we bring these into full awareness and challenge whether they are true, helpful or necessary then you can create new beliefs that allow you to let go of the fear.
